My daughter, Victoriana "Tori" Soritau, was diagnosed with Stage 3 High Risk Neuroblastoma in Jan. 2005.  Her tumors were on her spine between Lumbar 2 and 3 and one in her abdominal cavity.  The neurosurgeon wanted to remove her spinal tumor immediately because it was causing paralysis and other nerve damage that was affecting her bladder and bowel.  She completed the protocol of 6 rounds of chemo, surgery to remove her abdominal tumor, high dose chemo with stem cell rescue and 12 rounds of radiation.  She suffered many complications from her bone marrow transplant and was in the hospital for one year straight.  There was a lot of damage to her kidneys so she did not do Accutane or Immunotherapy.  As of Summer 2009, she celebrates four and a half years in remission.  Tori is walking again and enjoys ballet, playing dress up, princess tea parties and playing with her older brother and younger sister.
